Who has the most extra base hits in MLB history?

An extra-base hit, also known as a long hit in baseball, is any base hit that allows the batter to advance past first base without the benefit of a fielder committing an error or opting to make a throw to retire another base runner.

Extra base hits are frequently not listed separately in baseball statistics tables, but they can be easily calculated by adding a batter’s doubles, triples, and home runs.

Hank Aaron holds the record with 1,477 career extra-base hits. The only other player with more than 1,400 career extra-base hits is Barry Bonds (1,440).

Aaron was ranked fifth on The Sporting News’ list of the “100 Greatest Baseball Players” in 1999. In his first year of eligibility, he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.

Only 39 players in history have reached 1,000 career extra-base hits, with two of them still active, Albert Pujols and Miguel Cabrera.

Albert Pujols presently holds the record for the third-most extra-base hits of any player in the history of the game of baseball.
