The Seattle Mariners are a professional baseball team based in Seattle, Washington. They are a member of the American League (AL) West division in Major League Baseball (MLB).

The team did not field a winning team until 1991, and real success did not come until 1995 when they won their first division title and defeated the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series.

The Mariners won 116 games in 2001, setting an American League record and tying the 1906 Chicago Cubs for the most wins in a single season. As of 2021, the Mariners’ all-time win-loss record is 3,336–3,727 (.472).
