Bob Hope had a successful career in the entertainment industry for 8 decades and spanning across comedy, acting, music, production, television, and writing.

Hope worked with the NBC television network, doing many notable TV specials.

He appeared in over 70 films, stage productions and TV series. He also wrote 14 books and anchored the Academy Awards 19 times between 1939 and 1977.

Hope performed before military personnels around the world when he toured for the United Service Organizations (USO). As a result, he was named an honorary veteran of the Armed Forces in 1997.
