California-based mixed martial arts and Brazilian jiu-jitsu gym Cesar Gracie had given Nate Diaz a black belt, after years of training.

Diaz received the belt a month before his fight with Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Jim Miller.

He is also good at boxing and  jiujitsu, and possesses great submission skills.

Who Is Nate Diaz?

Nate Diaz is a professional mixed martial artist who currently fights as a free agent.

Born on April 16, 1985, in California, Diaz is known for fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for more than 15 years, during which he won The Ultimate Fighter 5.

So far, he has garnered at least 16 UFC bonus awards, as well as 22 wins out of 35 fights.

Before he began fighting in the UFC, Diaz fought in World Extreme Cagefighting, Strikeforce, and Pancrase.

When Diaz took part in The Ultimate Fighter 5 as a light weight, he faced Rob Emerson and defeated him by submission. He then faced Corey Hill in the quarter finals and won via triangle choke submission.

Diaz defeated Gray Maynard by submission, at the semi-finals, and later, Manvel Gamburyan at the final round. He therefore won The Ultimate Fighter 5.

Diaz’s last fight was at UFC 279, where he was matched against Tony Ferguson, and won via a guillotine choke submission in the fourth round.

Diaz won his second Performance of the Night bonus award, but refused to be signed in again by the UFC, making him a free agent.
