In July 2021, Neuralink announced a Series C funding round of $205 million, led by Vy Capital. Neuralink’s initial goal is to create devices that can treat serious brain diseases, such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, and spinal cord injuries.

The company hopes to eventually enable human enhancement by allowing people to communicate with machines, access information, or augment their senses and abilities. Neuralink’s devices are designed to be minimally invasive and compatible with existing medical standards.
