D. J. Reed Jr., an American football cornerback for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL), was born on November 11, 1996. In the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected him from Kansas State, where he played college football.

The San Francisco 49ers selected Reed in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft (142nd overall). Reed made it to Super Bowl LIV in his second season, but the 49ers fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 31–20. At the start of training camp on July 28, 2020, he was added to the active/non-football injury list. On August 4, 2020, he was released from the list with a non-football injury designation.
