American R&B singer-songwriter and recording artist Usher was discovered by Bryant Reid, an A&R representative from LaFace Records

In the early 1990s, Usher, who was then a teenager, participated in various talent shows and performed locally in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.
During one of these performances, Usher caught the attention of Bryant Reid. Impressed by Usher’s talent and potential, he arranged an audition for Usher with L.A. Reid, the co-founder of LaFace.
Reid signed Usher on the spot to a contract with the record company after Usher sang Boyz II Men hit record “End of the Road”. This marked the beginning of Usher’s professional music career.

Under the guidance of L.A. Reid and the label, Usher released his self-titled debut album, “Usher,” in 1994. The album achieved moderate success, laying the foundation for Usher’s future success in the music industry.
Usher’s career continued to flourish as he released subsequent albums, showcasing his R&B and pop-infused sound. He achieved widespread commercial success and critical acclaim with albums like “My Way” (1997), “8701” (2001), and “Confessions” (2004).
Known as the “King of R&B” by several media outlets, in the United States, Usher has sold 23.8 million albums and 38.2 million digital tracks. He has sold over 80 million records globally, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time.
