English television host, broadcaster, journalist, and novelist Sir Michael Parkinson CBE (28 March 1935 – 16 August 2023) passed away. He hosted several discussion shows and programs in the UK and abroad in addition to his own television talk show Parkinson from 1971 to 1982 and from 1998 to 2007.

He was referred to as “the great British talkshow host” by The Guardian and had a radio career as well.
In the 1960s, Parkinson made the transition to television and began producing current events shows for the BBC and Manchester-based Granada Television. He worked as a reporter and host for the BBC1 program Twenty-Four Hours, which aired five times a week from March 1966 to January 1968.
