Who did Meg Johnson play in Emmerdale? – Actress Meg Johnson who played Pearl Ladderbanks in Emmerdale died on July 1, 2023, at age 86. She also starred in two of the UK’s most popular soap operas, as Eunice Gee in Coronation Street and as Brigid McKenna in Brookside.

Meg first appeared on Emmerdale in episode 3500 on 30 July 2003.

  • Developing a gambling addiction,
  • Committing embezzlement in order to feed her gambling, and

During 2019, she took a long sabbatical from her role as Pearl, with her last appearance on July 18, 2019.

Pearl remained off-screen until 13 January 2020, when it was revealed on-screen that she had been on a caravan holiday away from the community.

The character made a few cameo appearances until the COVID-19 outbreak in the United Kingdom forced him to retire due to Johnson’s age.

Her last episode aired on March 30, 2020.
