Evanescence is an American rock band founded in 1994 by singer and keyboardist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody in Little Rock, Arkansas. After releasing independent EPs as a duo in the late ’90s and a demo CD, Evanescence released their debut studio album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in 2003.

Who did Evanescence fire?
The band suddenly announced that they were parting ways with guitarist Jen Majura — who’d been playing with them since 2015 — and that they’d be filling her spot with their longtime bassist Tim McCord, whose bass duties would be fulfilled by Sick Puppies’ Emma Anzai.

Jen Majura has opened up about her exit from EVANESCENCE, saying she is “still in shock” about being fired from the Amy Lee-fronted band.
While Evanescence announced Majura’s departure along with a cordial message calling her their “dear friend” and wishing her the best on her future ventures, Majura posted her brief statement on Instagram saying that “none of this was my decision” — but that she has no hard feelings toward Evanescence and wishes them well.
