The late Curtis Thomas Simmons was an American professional baseball left-handed pitcher, with Major League Baseball (MLB) history from 1947 to 1950 and 1952 to 1967.

Curt Simmons is known as one of the twin anchors of the starting rotation of the “Whiz Kids”, the Philadelphia Phillies’ 1950 National League (NL) championship team.

He was born on May 19th, 1929 in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, situated in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. Curt Simmons died on 13th December 2022 at the age of 93. He died at his Ambler, Pa., home on Tuesday.

He was married to the late Dorothy Ludwig Simmons who passed away in 2012. They are survived by three children, Timothy, Thomas, and Susan D’Acquisto. He also has seven grandchildren.
