Who did Clive Davis discover?

Clive Davis is known for having a keen ear for talent and a knack for discovering and nurturing some of the most successful artists in music history.

Over the course of his long career in the music industry, Davis has worked with a wide range of artists across multiple genres, including rock, pop, R&B, and hip-hop.

One of Davis’s most significant discoveries was Whitney Houston, whom he signed to Arista Records in 1983.  Houston was just 19 years old at the time, but Davis recognized her incredible vocal talent and immediately began working with her to develop her sound and image.

Another major discovery for Davis was Alicia Keys, whom he signed to J Records in 2001. Keys was just 20 years old at the time and had already been writing and performing music for several years.  Keys went on to win multiple Grammy Awards and became one of the most successful R&B artists of the 2000s.

Davis is also credited with helping to launch the careers of Barry Manilow, Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Santana, and many others.
