Who are Rob and Melani Walton?

Rob Walton is the son of Helen Walton and Walmart founder Sam Walton, and he is married to Melani Walton. Rob Walton is the retired chairman of the board of Walmart.

Rob is a member of the Conservation International board of directors and co-chairman of the Arizona State University Global Institute of Sustainability. Rob is also a Mayo Clinic Arizona Leadership Council member and an emeritus life trustee of The College of Wooster.

Rob joined Walmart in 1969 and rose through the ranks to become senior vice president, corporate secretary, general counsel, and vice-chairman.

Melani A. Lowman Walton was born in Montana in July 1974.  She is the third wife of Walmart Chairman Rob Walton. Melani Walton earned a bachelor’s degree in science from Dickinson State University in North Dakota.

Melani Lowman has also worked as an athletic trainer and a basketball coach in the past. She has also had experience in commercial real estate.

Rob is one of the founding members of the Rob and Melani Walton Foundation. Rob and Melani collaborate on strategy and carry out on-the-ground work all over the world. They collaborated with their partners to plant trees on Turtle Island and relocate elephants in Malawi.
