Whitney Boakye Questions Opposition MPs’ Absence at #dumsormuststop Vigil

Entertainment pundit, Whitney Boakye has expressed shock over the failure of the Minority in Parliament to take advantage of the #dumsormuststop vigil. Yvonne Nelson on June 9, 2024, led Ghanaians in a vigil to drum home the need for government to work at ensuring the country is provided with electricity.

The vigil was attended by a few celebrities and some known faces in the opposition National Democratic Congress. However, unlike the the previous vigil in 2015 when the NPP MInority had most of their MPs on board the vigil, the NDC MPs were conspicuously missing.

“They make a lot of noise about Dumsor in Parliament so I am shocked that I didn’t see them take advantage of this vigil to drum home their case. It is an undeniable fact that we are faced with challenges with power outages.

As event people, we now have to charge our clients for generators during events because we are not so sure if the lights will be kept on or not. I have come to know that in our sector you just need to know their prices and buy them. They will sing your praise and move on without complaining about the challenges.
