Busan is the second-largest city in South Korea and the economic, cultural, and educational center of southeastern South Korea. The official language in Busan is Korean, but the locals speak a dialect called Busan satoori, which is part of the Gyeongsang province dialect.

Busan satoori has some differences from standard Korean in terms of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. For example, 마 (ma) means “hey” in Busan satoori, while 야 (ya) is used in standard Korean.

Busan means “cauldron mountain” in English, which refers to the shape of the mountain behind Busan Castle. In Korean, Busan is written as 부산, which consists of two syllables: 부 (bu) and 산 (san).
부 means “cauldron” and 산 means “mountain”. The hanja (Chinese characters) for Busan are 釜山, which have the same meanings as the Korean syllables.
Busan is known for its stunning array of beaches and coastal vistas, along with more fresh seafood than one could ever ask for.
