Why Was Montrezl Harrell Out?

Harrell was briefly out of play due to a foot injury.

However, before joining the 76ers, Harrell was with the Charlotte Hornets for only four months before he was kicked out due legal charges bordering on drug trafficking.

Sometime in May 2022, about 1.4 kilograms of marijuana were found with him and he was charged with a Class D felony.

Who Is Montrezl Harrell?

Montrezl Harrell is a basketball player who plays as a centre and power forward for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA.

Born on January 26, 1994, Harrell began his basketball career as power forward at North Edgecombe High School, North Carolina, before spending a brief period at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia.

His high school career records an average of 25.2 points and 13.6 rebounds per game.

Harrell proceeded to play college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals.

In his freshman year, he averaged 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game. During the 2013 Big East Conference championship, Harrell led his team to win a win against Syracuse.

In 2015, Harrell was named amongst the top power rforward in the nation and as a result, received the Karl Malone Award. In 2020, he was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2020.

Before joining the , Harrell played for the Houston Rockets, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Washington Wizards, and the Charlotte Hornets.

The Philadelphia 76ers had signed him in 2022. The new deal is worth $5.2 million over two years.
