Judith Mary Murray, OBE (born Judith Mary Erskine) and simply known as Judy Murray is a Scottish tennis coach, best known as the mother of professional tennis players Jamie and Sir Andy Murray.

Judy Murray was born on 8 September 1959. Where was Judy Murray born? Judy was born in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire, to parents Roy Erskine And Eileen Shirley.

Judy Murray won 64 titles in Scotland during her junior and senior career, and decided to have a go at the professional tour in around 1976. However, she gave up the idea of competing professionally due to being homesick as well as being robbed in Barcelona.

Judy Murray was the initial coach for both her sons before handing over the reins as their professional careers bloomed.

Aside her sons, Judy has coached many players at regional and national level under the auspices of the British tennis governing body, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

Murray was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2017 Birthday Honours for services to tennis, women in sport, and charity.

She is also a trustee of the Judy Murray Foundation, a registered charity under Scottish law, with the object of improving access to tennis opportunities across Scotland.

Judy has also made some appearances in the entertainment arena, appearing as a contestant on The Chase Celebrity Christmas Special in 2018 and also appearing as a contestant on Celebrity Masterchef in 2020.

Judy Murray was also awarded the 2021 Georgina Clark Mother Award from the Women’s Tennis Association.
