The filming of ‘Death on the Nile’ took place at the Cotswold Water Park Nature Reserve near Swindon, with the Nile played by the Cleveland Lakes and 300 locals taking the part of locals and tourists.

Outside of Longcross Studios, the Death on the Nile crew visited a handful of on-location settings to enhance the film’s authenticity.
Cotswold Water Park Nature Reserve close to Swindon was visited to capture scenes of the spice market.
Additionally, background shots were taken in Morocco and Egypt for the film and Cleveland Lake also stood in for the titular River Nile with the second unit team visiting the real River Nile for some additional shots.

Despite the convenience of finding a substitute close to their studio base, the production was faced with one predictable consequence of UK shooting: torrential rain, interrupted with just the shortest of sunny spells needed for the scene.
