Wendy Shay was born on February 20, 1996, in Kwahu, in the Eastern Region of Ghana. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Addo. She has three siblings.

Wendy Shay lost her father while she was in Ghana and together with her mother and siblings, they relocated to Stuttgart, Germany.

Wendy Shay started her education in Ghana at the Morning Star School and St Martin de Porres in Accra. She continued to grade 7 in Stuttgart. She also attended a music school in Bernhausen in Germany.
