Social media platform, Twitter set up its new headquarters in the capital city of Ghana, Accra, in April 2021. An official announcement was released on April 12, 2022, stating how the company was looking at building an active team in Africa.

On November 1, 2022, Senior Partner Manager of Twitter Africa (Ghana and Nigeria), Mister Meister announced that the company will officially open its headquarters for physical operation after working remotely for over a year.

There has been a swift turn in decision after the company reportedly shut down several sites which includes laying off all Twitter Africa employees. According to tweets made by the Meister, the site is closing down and letting all employees go home. Even though he did not officially make a solid statement there have been several farewell tweets from him as well as being appreciative of the fact that he got to work for the company.
