As a wing for Gallagher Premiership team Leicester Tigers and the Tonga national team, Solomone Kata (born 3 December 1994) is a Tongan professional dual-code rugby player.

Prior to playing rugby union, Kata competed in rugby league for the New Zealand Warriors and the Melbourne Storm in the NRL. She also represented Tonga and New Zealand internationally.

In 2013, Kata signed with the New Zealand Warriors and transitioned to rugby league. Kata competed for the Warriors Holden Cup team and was a member of the team that fell short against the Penrith Panthers in the grand final by a score of 30-42. Before switching back to the under 20s category, Kata participated in the 2014 Auckland Nines with the first grade team.

Where is Solomone Kata from?

Kata, a Tonga native, relocated to New Zealand at the age of 16 to enroll in Sacred Heart College, which boasts as alumni international rugby players Kieran Crowley, Sean Fitzpatrick, Xavier Rush, and Taniela Tupou.
