Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Usyk is a Ukrainian professional boxer. He is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the unified WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles since defeating Anthony Joshua.

As of June 2022, Usyk is ranked as the world’s second best active boxer, pound for pound, by The Ring and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB), third by BWAA, fifth by BoxRec, and sixth by ESPN.

Where does Usyk come from?
Usyk was born in Simferopol, Crimean Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, the Soviet Union on 17 January 1987, to parents originally from northern Ukraine.
His mother was born in the Chernihiv region (in the village of Rybotyn, Korop Raion), while his father was a native of Sumy.
