Rick Stein films his cooking in his home county of Cornwall. Most of the recipes in his Spanish food series were made at Villa La Era.

Rick Stein is an English celebrity chef, restaurateur, writer and television presenter. As of 2015, Rick Stein ran a business which was operating four restaurants, a bistro, a café, a seafood delicatessen, a pâtisserie shop, a gift shop and a cookery school.

Rick Stein’s book English Seafood Cookery won the Glenfiddich Award for Food Book of the Year in 1989.
Along with business partner Jill Stein, he has run the Stein hotel and restaurant business in the UK. He has written over 25 cookery books, and a memoir and made over 30 programmes including 12 cookery series.
Rick Stein went to New College, Oxford, where he earned an English degree in 1971. Rick Stein was awarded the OBE in the 2003 New Year Honours for services to tourism in Cornwall.
