American football defensive end Dr. Richard Lamar Dent was born on December 13, 1960, and played for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL) for the most of his career. He won the title of Super Bowl XX’s Most Valuable Player. The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, welcomed him in 2011 as a new member.

During the 1983 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected him in the eighth round. He had spent the subsequent 11 seasons with the Bears.
