Where is Mary Louise Kelly from?
Mary Louise Kelly was born in West Augsburg, Germany to American parents; James Kelly and Carol White. While James was studying law at Harvard University, he was drafted by the United States Army. He served as a captain from 1968 to 1972.

Louise was born in an Army field hospital, however, she grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

When did Mary Louise Kelly start her career? Mary Louise Kelly started her career as a reporter on local politics for her hometown newspaper, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. After attended Cambridge University, she did her internship in England with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), and also in Scotland.
Louise joined NPR in Washington in the United States in 2001 as the company’s evening newsmagazine editor, All Things Considered.
According to NPR, she is a “bad-ass babe on breaking news.” Three years later (2004), she launched NPR’s intelligence beat and reported on spy agencies such as the Central Intelligence Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the National Security Agency.
She became the first reported to interview Gary Schroen, the CIA operative who was dropped into Afghanistan in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack.
