Dent received multiple nominations for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and from 2005 to 2009, he finished among the top 15 candidates. On February 5, 2011, he was eventually chosen for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, following numerous years of fruitless nominations.
