Rhys Hoskins was a multi-sport athlete at Jesuit High School in Carmichael, California, where he played baseball, basketball, and football.

In the 2022 regular season, Rhys Hoskins batted .246/.332/.462 in 589 at bats with 81 runs, 33 doubles, 30 home runs, 79 RBIs, and 169 strikeouts (6th).

As a freshman at Sacramento, Rhys Hoskins was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association First Team Freshman All-American.

Rhys Hoskins was also selected by Baseball America as the first baseman on the First Team of the Baseball America Minor League All-Star Team.

In May 2015, Rhys Hoskins batted .342 with two home runs and 23 RBIs and was named the Minor League Player of the Month by the Phillies organization.

In 2016, Rhys Hoskins was selected by the International League as its MVP, Rookie of the Year, and Midseason and Postseason All-Star Team first baseman.
