When was Title 42 passed?
The provision was enacted as part of the Public Health Service Act of 1944.
In March 2020, the Centre for Disease Control under the Trump administration issued a public health order allowing for the rapid expulsion of unauthorised border crossers and asylum seekers citing COVID-19.
