Mills Bee Lane III was a professional boxer from the United States, a boxing referee, and a television personality. He served two terms as a district court judge in Washoe County, Nevada.

Lane was most recognized for his roles as Judge Mills Lane on the syndicated court show and as the referee of numerous significant heavyweight championship boxing matches in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.
Lane made his first public appearance in years during the dedication of a new courthouse in Reno that was named after him in May 2006.
The Mills B. Lane Justice Center houses both the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office and the Reno Municipal Court.
