Yamiche Alcindor began her journalism career in 2009 as a reporter for Newsday, in New York, where she covered local news and national politics.

She is known for her work as a White House correspondent for PBS NewsHour, and a Washington correspondent for NBC News.

Alcindor’s news reporting is often focused on issues of race, social justice, and the intersection of politics and policy.

For her work in journalism, Alcindor has received numerous accolades such as the White House Correspondents’ Association’s Aldo Beckman Memorial Award and the Journalist of the Year award by the National Association of Black Journalists.

Alcindor joined USA Today in 2015 as a national political reporter, covering the presidential campaign of Donald Trump.
