tephen Anthony James Duffy is an English musician, singer and songwriter best known as a founding member, vocalist, bassist and then drummer of Duran Duran.

The singer and songwriter for The Lilac Time with his older brother Nick, Stephen also recorded as a solo performer under several different names.
Born on 30 May 1960 in Alum Rock, Birmingham, England, Stephen Duffy formed the group Duran Duran with John Taylor, along with Taylor’s childhood friend, Nick Rhodes.
With Taylor serving as the guitarist (later switching to bass) and Rhodes playing the synthesizer, Duffy served as the band’s vocalist/lyricist and bassist.
However, Stephen moved to drums afrer the arrival of bass player Simon Colley joined.
Sadly, Stephen Duffy left the and in 1979, before the band even signing with EMI in 1980.

Stephen Duffy ie yet to lift the lid on why he parted ways with the band in order to go solo.
However, it appears that he likes to take complete creative control within all his musical ventures.
Despite his early split from the group, he has kept in touch with former bandmates over the years, according to Classic Pop Magazine.
Stephen Duffy is still featured in radio interviews as the former singer of Duran Duran.
Duffy has also co-written with Robbie Williams and Steven Page.
