Rolando McClain’s NFL career was a tale of great promise and tumultuous challenges. The journey of this talented middle linebacker began when he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders as the 8th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

In 2013, McClain’s career took an unexpected turn when he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens.
Surprisingly, he retired from football before even playing a regular-season game with the Ravens. This abrupt retirement was attributed, in part, to his persistent off-field problems.
Despite the challenges, McClain made comeback attempts with the Dallas Cowboys in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Although he demonstrated flashes of talent, his off-field issues continued to haunt him.
