Anna Marie “Patty” Duke was an American actress and mental health advocate.

Over the course of her acting career, she was the recipient of an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, three Primetime Emmy Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Patty Duke took the role of Neely O’Hara as an opportunity to transition into more adult roles in film, and because she saw the role as the most dynamic in the script, allowing her to act, sing, and dance.
When she learned that, despite her preparations, her vocals were dubbed for the film, she was furious.

When Did Patty Duke Die?
Duke died on the morning of March 29, 2016, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, of sepsis from a ruptured intestine at the age of 69.
Her son Sean Astin invited the public to contribute to a mental health foundation in his mother’s name, the Patty Duke Mental Health Initiative.
She was cremated and her ashes were interred at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
She was married four times and was famous for having multiple affairs. One of these affairs resulted in her son Sean Astin who eventually became a famous actor on his own.
Unfortunately, Patty died on March 29, 2016, at the age of 69.
