Late American professional basketball player, Kobe Bean Bryant died on Jan 26, 2020, in a helicopter crash in California, alongside his daughter and seven others.

Kobe Bryant spent his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association.
Bryant, in the moments before his death, was sending text messages to a friend of his -Pelinka. He was texting back and forth with Pelinka, just minutes before his helicopter crashed into a hill in Calabasas.

The conversation wasn’t just a friendly exchange though, Bryant was reaching out to help connect a family friend (Lexi Altobelli) with a baseball internship.
Pelinka noted that Bryant vouched for her character and was excited to set her up with a potential internship with a baseball scout.
16-year-old Lexi Altobelli is the daughter and sister of three of the other crash victims.
Her mother, Keri Altobelli, her father, John Altobelli, and her younger sister, Alyssa Altobelli, had also died in the crash.
The trio were traveling with the Bryants and several others to a youth basketball game when the ill-fated crash occurred.
