Katie moved to CBS to be the managing editor of CBS Evening News. Couric would also contribute to 60 minutes and anchor prime-time news specials on CBS.

Couric spent 15 years at CBS before announcing that she would be joining the CBS Evening News, becoming the first solo female anchor of a nightly news broadcast on a major network. Five years later, in 2011, she left CBS amid a rating decline for the Evening News.
