British serial killers Fred West and Rosemary West were active in the 1970s and 1980s. In Gloucester, England, they ran a boarding home where they tortured, raped, and killed young girls and women, some of whom were their own daughters.

Many of the victims’ remains were buried in the garden or under the home. Nine victims’ bodies were found at the location in 1994, and Fred West was accused of killing them all.
Several other people, including his daughter Heather, who vanished in 1987 and was never discovered, were also thought to have been murdered by him.
In 1995, Rosemary West was found guilty of several counts of murder in addition to other charges. She is currently incarcerated for the rest of her life.

When did Fred and Rose West get caught?
Fred and Rose West were arrested in 1994 in connection with the disappearance of their daughter, Heather.
The investigation into their activities led to the discovery of the remains of several other people, including several of Fred West’s children and a number of young women, at their home in Cromwell Street, Gloucester, England.
Fred West was charged with 12 counts of murder, while Rose West was charged with 10 counts.
Fred West hanged himself while in custody awaiting trial, while Rose West was later convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
