Diane Sawyer is an American television broadcast journalist who has hosted major programs on two networks, including ABC World News Tonight and Good Morning America.

Diane Sawyer began her career as a reporter and correspondent for CBS News in 1978. Sawyer joined CBS Morning News as a co-anchor in 1981 before becoming a correspondent for 60 Minutes in 1984.

She was a co-anchor of Primetime Live from 1989 to 1998, and again from 2000 to the present. She received the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2010, and an honorary Doctorate of Letters from Brown University in 2012.
Then, in 2019, she was honored as a Disney Legend for her long and illustrious career with ABC News, which is owned by the Walt Disney Company.
She was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame and received an Emmy, a Daytime Emmy, and a Peabody Award for her work as a reporter.
