Richard David James, known professionally as Aphex Twin, is an Irish-born British musician, composer, and DJ best known for his idiosyncratic work in electronic styles including techno, ambient, and jungle.

In the late 1980s, Aphex Twin began DJing at free parties and clubs in Cornwall and the South West. His debut EP, “Analogue Bubblebath”, released in 1991, garnered an early following, and he started performing across the UK and continental Europe.

James co-founded the independent label Rephlex Records the same year. His debut album, “Selected Ambient Works 85–92”, released in 1992, received critical acclaim.

Aphex Twin signed to Warp Records in 1993, releasing chart-topping albums and singles, including “Come to Daddy” and “Windowlicker”. Aphex Twin has been influential in contemporary electronic music, and his career has spanned several decades.
Aphex Twin’s debut EP Analogue Bubblebath, released in 1991 on Mighty Force Records brought him an early following and set the stage for his unique sound exploration.
Aphex Twin’s 1992 debut album Selected Ambient Works 85–92, released by Belgian label Apollo, garnered wider critical and popular acclaim. Iconic singles like “Come to Daddy” (1997) and “Windowlicker” (1999) catapulted Aphex Twin into the international spotlight.
