John Such was a long-time figure in the thriving New Jersey music scene that gave birth to Bon Jovi.

Before joining Jon Bon Jovi & The Wild Ones’ band, John Such worked as the manager of the Hunka Bunka Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. He was a member of Bon Jovi during their heyday in the 1980s.

John Such left Bon Jovi in 1994, citing fatigue as the reason. He later returned to the band for its 2018 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Hugh McDonald took over as bassist when John Such left the band in 1994.

“When Jon Bon Jovi phoned me and asked me to join his band many years ago, I quickly recognised how serious he was, and he had a vision that he wanted to get us there,” John Such stated during the Hall of Fame ceremony. “And I am overjoyed to have been a part of that vision.”

John Such died on Sunday, June 5 according to Jon Bon Jovi. There were no immediate details on when or how John Such died.
