And even after being imprisoned, Dahmer would often joke about being a cannibal, spreading the red sauce over his food, to look like blood.

Jeffrey Dahmer was never given a life sentence because Wisconsin had abolished the death penalty for 139 years (in 1853) before he was convicted of his crimes in 1992.
