She had visited the king with many gifts and biblical narrations explain that she was astonished at the sight of the greatness of the kingdom of King Solomon.

Did Queen Of Sheba Marry Solomon?

The biblical narrations did not state that the Queen of Sheba married Solomon. However, many Jewish traditions opine that a marriage was held between Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, and they bore a son – Menelik I – who became the first great king of Ethiopia.

The Bible recants that Queen of Sheba came to Jerusalem “with a very great retinue, with camels bearing spices, and very much gold, and precious stones”

Never again came such an abundance of spices” (II Chron. 9:1–9) as those she gave to Solomon.

Queen of Sheba had come “to prove King Solomon with hard questions”, which Solomon answered wisely.

The existence of the Queen of Sheba is still a debate till date amongst historians.

Modern historians are of the opinion that the Queen of Sheba hailed from both the South Arabian kingdom of Saba in present-day Yemen and Ethiopia.
