Arnold Palmer, the legendary professional golfer, died on September 25, 2016, shortly after his 87th birthday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, while awaiting heart surgery.

He had been admitted three days prior for heart testing. Following his funeral, he was cremated, and his ashes were scattered at Latrobe Country Club in his hometown.
His estate was worth $875 million and was divided among his two daughters, his second wife (who received $10 million), eight employees who each received $25,000, and his charity, Arnie’s Army, which received $10 million.
Palmer’s life was honoured by both teams at the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, just outside the Twin Cities, less than a week after his death.

Arnold Palmer won 62 PGA Tour titles in a career spanning more than six decades, from 1955 to 1973. He is the fifth most successful player in Tour history, trailing only Sam Snead, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Ben Hogan.
From the 1958 Masters to the 1964 Masters, he dominated with seven major titles. He also received the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998 and was one of the original 13 inductees into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974.
