Olympia Dukakis was an American actress who performed in over 130 stage productions, over 60 films and 50 television series. Olympia Dukakis was born on June 20, 1931, in Lowell, Massachusetts, United States.
Olympia Dukakis graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Massachusetts. She was educated at Boston University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in physical therapy. She later earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in performing arts at Boston University.
Olympia Dukakis began her career working in 1961 in productions at the Williamstown Summer Theater, in Massachusetts.
Olympia Dukakis received a Golden Globe nomination for Sinatra (1992) and Emmy Award nominations for Lucky Day (1991), More Tales of the City (1998) and Joan of Arc (1999).
