What was Lana Del Rey addiction?

Popular singer and songwriter, Lana Del Rey once shared that she suffered from alcohol addiction at a very young age. She added that she was sent to boarding school by her parents to make her sober.

“I was a big drinker at the time. I would drink every day. I would drink alone. I thought the whole concept was so f’ing cool. A great deal of what I wrote on ‘Born To Die’ is about these wilderness years. My parents were worried, and I was worried. I knew it was a problem when I liked it more than I liked anything else. I was like I’m f’d up and I’m totally f’d up,” she said.

She also added that the addiction feels exciting and dark at the same time, however, the dark side wins over some time while the brighter side completely disappears. According to her, being an addict was the worse thing that ever happened to her.
