P!nk is one of Pop’s best-known vocalists. Many in the music industry have praised her raspy, smoky timbre and wide vocal range.

P!nk is well-known as a lyric mezzo-soprano. Her dark, ladylike timbre and powerful lower register are all strong indicators of her profession.

Some have called her a contralto because of the husky quality of her voice, but she lacks a truly androgynous vocal quality.

P!nk’s lower register is strong as expected for a mezzo, descending to B2 with tonal consistency. This part of her voice has remained strong, if not grown healthier, even after she stopped smoking.

As she moves into her midrange, her voice warms but retains a dark, velvety timbre, demonstrating her truly lyrical nature. Overall, P! nk is unquestionably one of Pop’s most powerful and underappreciated vocalists.

Pink was the second most-played female solo artist in the United Kingdom during the 2000s decade, behind only Madonna. VH1 ranked her at number ten on their list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music.
