Lacey become part of the Michigan State family two years after she started a friendly relationship with star forward, Adrian Payne.
According to reports, she exchanged phone numbers with the player during a hospital visit by Michigan players which led to their friendship.
When the news of her demise broke, Payne sent a heartwarming message to the Lacey family and the Spartans indicated that they will hold a life celebration for the young girl.
