The public funeral for the D-Day Veteran will take place at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday, April 26) in St Paul’s Church in Charlestown, followed by cremation for his immediate family.

His wife Sheila, daughters Sally and Margot, son Christopher, and granddaughters Amy and Claire survive him. Mr and Mrs Billinge had been married for 67 years, and their 68th wedding anniversary was coming up in August.

At 10.10 am, The funeral procession will leave PCF Home in Mount Charles Road and travel along Victoria Road, Alexandra Road, East Hill, South Street, Trinity Street and through Fore Street.
The funeral procession will then pass the War Memorial Cross at Holy Trinity Church before going to High Cross Street, Tregonissey Road and Slades Road at 10:30 am
At 10.40 am, the funeral party will then leave Harry’s home at 10.40 am before continuing along Slades Road, Clifden Road, Holmbush Arch Road and into Church Road, Charlestown.
There will be a broadcast outside the church at the nearby church hall for members of the public to listen to the service.
Mourners are invited to pay their respects to Harry at his wake, which will be held between 1 pm and 11 pm at the St Austell Brewery’s visitors centre on Trevarthian Road.
