Adam Rich was born on October 12, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York, United States. Rich was a child actor who was raised in Granada Hills, Los Angeles, with his parents and younger brother.

Adam Rich won the role of Nicholas when he was eight years old. After his role on Eight Is Enough, he had roles in Code Red, a short-lived TV series on ABC in 1981, and Gun Shy, a sitcom on CBS in 1983.

Adam Rich made guest appearances on several television series, including The Love Boat, CHiPs, Fantasy Island, The Six Million Dollar Man, St. Elsewhere, and Baywatch.

Adam Rich did voice work on the cartoon series Dungeons & Dragons, along with his Eight Is Enough co-star Willie Aames.
