Christopher Farley was a comedian and actor from the United States. Farley was a member of Chicago’s Second City Theatre and later a cast member of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live between 1990 and 1995, and was recognised for his loud, energetic comedic approach.

Farley struggled with alcohol and illicit drug addiction for much of his adult life. Because of his addictions, he was repeatedly suspended from the cast of Saturday Night Live. Bernie Brillstein, the actor’s manager at Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, had regularly sent him to drug and alcohol rehab.

Farley was discovered dead in his apartment at the John Hancock Center in Chicago on December 18, 1997, by his younger brother John. He was 33 years old at the time.
