In 2011, Vučević played for Montenegrin team Budućnost Podgorica before was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers as 16th overall pick in the NBA draft.
The 76ers later traded him to Orlando Magic.
Vučević has been named an NBA All-Star on two occasions. In 2021, Vučević was traded again by the Orlando Magic to the Chicago Bulls.
